Meet Sandy

Founder of The Speech Studio

Hi, I’m Sandy Funk.

I founded The Speech Studio.

I’m a speech therapist with advanced training in:

  • Speech therapy
  • Feeding therapy
  • Myofunctional therapy
  • Breathing retraining

I help kids and adults

  • Speak clearly
  • Eat and swallow with ease
  • Breathe better
  • Build confidence

When I’m not working. I’m sailing, traveling, or with my husband and our dog, Taco.

But Really, It’s About You

I began therapy the traditional way.

I followed the system. I worked hard.

But I saw the same problems over and over:

  • People working on the same sounds for years
  • Therapy focused only on speech
  • Families discharged before true progress
  • Individuals leaving therapy still struggling

Progress was slow.

Families felt frustrated.

Some lost hope.

That’s when I knew there had to be a better way.

When It Got Personal

After 17 years of practice, I learned something big.

I had a tongue tie.

It had affected my breathing. My posture. My health. And no one had noticed. Not doctors. Not professors. Not even me.

That changed everything.

I realized something important: Speech is often the most obvious symptom to a deeper root cause.

The real is may be:

  • Mouth breathing
  • Poor posture
  • Weak oral muscles

If those are not fixed, progress  doesn’t last.

The Speech Studio Was Born

At The Speech Studio, we do things differently.

We look at the whole system.

Speech. Breathing. Swallowing. Chewing. Posture. Muscle coordination.

Therapy here is not endless drills.

It is care that looks deeper.

That’s why progress is faster.

And it sticks.
